Our art shop needed more business, so we tried creating a brand fragrance.
My friend and I decided to open a shop in our hometown recently. She is a very skilled folk artist, and she wanted to get a storefront to sell her items. We also decided to take work from other local artists on consignment, and the business is coming along very nicely. I decided it might be a good idea to create a brand fragrance for our shop. All the big store chains are relying on machine scent now as part of a set of high tech branding strategies. I talked to my friend about it, and she seemed interested.
I decided to check out the internet and investigate this brand fragrance concept. The idea of using a machine scent in your store isn’t that new, but the machines are much smaller and more affordable now. It’s very easy for a shop of any size to take advantage of these kinds of branding strategies.
I went ahead and ordered the mix of scents we’re going to use as our brand fragrance. I wanted to create a sense of nature and nostalgia, so the scents are a mix of things like old leather, and pine forests. Hopefully these branding strategies will work as advertised and our machine scent will attract a lot more business for our shop. I figure that it’s certainly worth a try, and there are very few negatives involved. I have to risk a bit of money to test the concept, but at worst, we’ll have an easy way to make our shop smell better.
