Once a person submits their information it can be sold to companies that are looking to build their business clientele.
Some of the questions that asked are general questions such as name, address, phone number and other personal information that can be used by a company to target a certain groups such as age or income bracket. The questionnaire might ask what kind of hobbies the person likes, what kind of books or magazines that read, or what kind of items that they have purchased. All these type questions help the company to better understand the person that they are going to be talking to about the product or service that they are selling

If it is a realtor that is trying to find property to sell, they are going to target people who are looking to sell. They will look for information such as how much the type of dwelling that is being sold, the market value of the property and how long that the property has been owned by the sellers. Other Realtors may be looking to sell homes to a first time home owner. In that case they would be using the telemarketing lists to find customers that list the type of property that they are looking for. That list will probably contain information about their income, where they would like to find a home, and what price range are looking to buy in.
